Co-teaching is an equal partnership between a special education teacher and a general education teacher. They share a classroom and responsibilities for teaching all students in the class. But what does co-teaching look like? How does it work? Are we doing it right? In this workshop, you'll learn how co-teaching is much more than just mainstreaming, the fundamentals of co-teaching including five different models of co-teaching, and a simple framework for co-planning lessons. Throughout, Jerry and Char will share their experiences as co-teachers and strategies that have been effective for them in the classroom. In addition, some of the obstacles to effective co-teaching will be discussed as well as ways in which to overcome those obstacles.
