Using a comprehensive toolkit we will practice and discuss lots of different strategies that can be used and taught to students grade 2-8. We will discuss ways to help students connect with the text and help them create or access background knowledge to improve the comprehension of the things they are reading. These strategies will guide students and provided them with tips that will help them gather information, decode and better understand the text they are working with. Fill your students tool belts with supplies so that they can build and learn from any text that is presented to them.
