Reading is a human invention that reflects how the brain rearranges itself to learn something new.” Reading trajectories are established early and have a lifelong impact! Reading is the fundamental skill upon which all formal education depends. Children who do not learn to read early and well will not easily master other skills and knowledge. How can we increase the odds that no child is left behind? This session will begin to tackle the challenges of learning to read and how these research findings and theoretical models can inform practices in our classrooms.
