Orchestrating Mathematical Discussions That Engage All Students in K-2

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Well-orchestrated mathematical discussions are where the “rubber hits the road” in teaching in a way that honors the different ways students think. They enable you to use the thinking of individual students to move the thinking of the entire class toward the accomplishment of essential mathematical understandings. This presentation will share fundamental principles you can use in any math lesson and will illustrate those principles via video clips that show kindergarten children actively engaged.
