Engage in a mathematical task to explore the Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices in NCTM's book Principles to Actions: Ensuring mathematical success for all. We will experience and discuss the purposes and implementation of establishing mathematics goals to focus learning, using and connecting mathematical representations, facilitating meaningful mathematical discourse, posing purposeful questions, supporting productive struggle in learning mathematics, and eliciting and using evidence of student thinking.
